Chronological Highlights

 

1977-1979 "Breaker Breaker Sweet Jesus" was on the top 20 Gospel and Country charts for 19 months.

1977-1979, the “Let Jesus Love You” album was in the top 10 CBN charts and Jerry’s songs, Let Jesus Love You, By Faith the Just Shall Live, Since Jesus Came In, Please Give me Jesus and the Messiah all received airplay and charted nationally and internationally.

1979, the Associated Press released an article about Jerry Arhelger and the song he wrote and performed, "Breaker Breaker Sweet Jesus", and the ministry that it inspired to the CB and Trucking Industry started by Jim Sasser called by the same name. Out of this article came the invitation for Jerry to perform at the National CB Convention in
Washington, D.C.

1978-1980 Jerry hosted and created his own daily radio program called "He Is" which gained popularity in parts of
Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana.

1978-1979, the “I Don’t Belong Here” album was released and the song Don’t Light My Load and Jerry’s original songs, I Don’t Belong Here, Old Songs of Zion, Keep on the Firing Line, Bumper Sticker Christians, He Is, I’ve made up my mind, and Jesus Touched Me  all received airplay and charted on national and international charts.

1981, the “London Lady” album was released and Jerry’s original songs, The Diary, London Lady, I’ve Made Up My Mind and Nashville Without Jesus received airplay and charted internationally.

1980 Jerry was the keynote speaker at the WEC (World Evangelistic Crusade) Conference in London, England for world evangelist and missionaries.

1983 Jerry was a speaker and performed at the International Christian Artist Seminar in Debron, Holland.

1984 The song "Anna" was filmed and aired regularly on the Nashville Network "Country Video" and "Video Clips" television shows. It received some of the highest ratings of 10 in the history of the show.

1985 "Breaker Breaker Sweet Jesus" became the second most request song ever at Radio City in Liverpool, England. Johnny Kennedy at Radio City said, "We were receiving more request for Jerry's record than the Band-Aid single when it was number 1 on the charts."

1987 Jerry hosted the Gospel television program "Smokey Mountain Gospel" originating from Archie Campbells Hee-Haw Village in Pigeon Forge TN. His guest included the Talleys and Hopper Brothers and Connie.

1987 Jerry filmed the Gospel TV pilot for "Travelin On" featuring Amy Grant, the Talleys and Brad Cotter.

1987 "Breaker Breaker Sweet Jesus" video was filmed. It has aired nationally on several video programs and was Number 1 in 1989-93 on several video markets across America and Canada.

1987 After a performance at the Grand Ole Opry stage on Jimmy Snow's Grand Ole Gospel show, Jerry was chosen to appear in the book, "Our Brightest Stars of Country Music" written by Carolyn Rada Holloran. He appears along with country greats such as; George Jones, Randy Travis, Alabama, Kenny Rogers, Anne Murray, George Strait, etc.

In 1987 Jerry appeared at the All Star Gala with BBC personalities at Queens Way Hall. It was a concert for Men-Cap (National organization for the mentally handicapped in the
United Kingdom). Jerry performed during his show a song that he wrote for Men-Cap called,  ”Born to be Special".

1987 Jerry Arhelger was a part of the Word Records project called "Jubilee Campaign" where he wrote "Behind Locked Doors" for the project. He appeared on the project with Steve Camp, Scott Wesley Brown, Chuck Girrard, Sheila Walsh, Cliff Richard, Candi Staton, Steve Taylor, Lamb Rez Band, Silverwind, Adrian Snell, Garth Hewitt, Randy Stonehill, Noel Richards, Norman Barratt and Friends First.
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher wrote the back-liner for this album called "Song for the
Suffering Church." This album was instrumental in bringing attention to the suffering taking place in the then USSR.

1988 Jerry was part of the Barge Records project in
England with Tina Turner, The Hilllsiders, David Frizzel, George Hamilton IV, Leroy Van Dyke and many others to help the victims of the Piper Alpha disaster.

1992 Jerry recorded 2 songs for HillCrest Records along with other artist from
Ireland to help the war victims in the Croatian/Serbian conflict.

In November of 1992 a new Jerry Arhelger song "What I've learned from the Cross" was released by Destiny Records to gospel stations nationally.

1993 During Jerry's tour of the United Kingdom, Scottish Television brought camera's into one of the prisons to film Jerry's performance and an interview for Scottish TV. Jerry also appeared on national television in Scotland daily for a week sharing a daily devotion.

In the past years Jerry has produced projects on various artist including Grand Ole Opry Star George Hamilton IV, Ruby Horton, International artist such as Wes Davis, Janis English, etc., for Word Records, Warner Alliance, Benson, Marshall Pickering, etc.

Jerry is currently on the Fanny Crosby tribute album with many notable greats. In
1998 he has a song on the tribute album to George Beverly Shea along with such artist as Johnny Cash, Sandi Patty, Amy Grant, etc.

Along with many notable greats, Jerry was honored that he was asked to record 2 songs for a Tribute Album to Johnny Cash.

The song “Walk the Talk” co-written by Jerry Arhelger and Dave Clemo was used as the theme for the Jesus Festival named after the song “Walk the Talk”  in England.

In 2000 Jerry was the co-founder of the Missing Children Awareness Program.

From 2000 to 2004 Jerry dealt with cancer is now a cancer survivor.  During the 4 years associated with cancer Jerry was in bed for 10 months and in and out of bed for over 2 years.  Jerry is now writing, singing and ministering better than ever.  Jerry continued to sing and minister during that period of time as much as possible.  Jerry currently shares his testimony of healing and hopes to help others going through sickness and difficult times.

In 2004 Jerry created, produced and hosted the radio program “Good News” for the Great Commission Coalition.

In 2004-2005  “The Gardener” was a song that Jerry wrote and sang that was on the international charts for several months.

In 2005 the co-written duet of Jerry & Wes Davis’s song; “Faith, Hope & Love” was on the charts for several months internationally.

In 2004-2005 the song “Jesus is the Joy of Living” written by Jerry was on the charts internationally recorded by Praise Band.  The song was also recorded later in Spanish and received a lot of airplay.  The album with “Jesus is the Joy of Living” on it won a Gospel Music Association Dove Award for 2005.

In 2005 a version of “I Got a Feeling” was released recorded by Jerry.  It was on the international charts for several months.

In November of 2005, the “A Special Tree” written and recorded by Jerry, was released for Christmas and it charted internationally for several months and still receives airplay.

November-December 2005, Jerry toured the United Kingdom ministering and performing.  This was Jerry’s 68th tour of the UK.

2006, Jerry signed with the MGM Book Publishers who will be publishing, distributing and producing his book projects.
